O'Malley at Bayview

Bayview Restaurant is situated 400 meters to the left of the main pier. It also overlooks the old pier and as the name suggest has excellent views of the harbor. Bayview is a very convenient stop off point, after getting off the boat, or indeed waiting for the return ferry. Its also a great spot to relax after a long bike ride or bus tour. When the weather is fine, it’s a wonderful place to dine ‘al fresco’ and to people watch.

From Connemara, or the Moher clifftop,
Where the land ends with sheer drop,
You can see three stepping stones out of Europe.
Anchored like hulls at the dim horizon
Against the winds’ and the waves’ explosion.
The Aran Islands are all awash.
East coastline’s furled in the foam’s white sash.
The clouds melt over them like slush.
And on Galway Bay, between shore and shore,
The ferry plunges to Aranmore.
